Mallory Fuel Pump and FPR
Hey guys, I was wondering since RB recommends this setup for their holley carb/mani, to use this combo with the stock nikki carb? And upgrade later to a holley carb.
Will this be a good idea to spend the extra cash in these items or I can get anything else cheaper and get a close performance and save some bucks ?
Thanks.

Nothing wrong with those parts as far as manufacturing goes. Look into Holley fuel pumps and pressure regulators. Carter also makes a 7LB universal pump that is fairly standard for our cars. Consider looking into a Sterling carb. www.sterlingmetalworks.com . Basically a stock Nikki modified to the ****. Comparable in price to a Holley, but more attention to the details, and designed to run on our rotary engine. Your stock pump is kinda weak as it is, so you will benefit from upgrading that and adding a pressure regulator. Make sure you get yourself a very good gauge, or theres no point in putting that regulator on at all. RE-Speed has one. A little on the expensive side, but they did their homework and found the best one. This is not a time to get too cheap. Good Luck.

Sterling carb, Carter fuel pump, holley regulator. Set the pressure at about 2.5#.
Search for this setup and you will see pics of the install, although it may not help on your toyota.
If you do decide to go the Holley carb route (a bad idea in my opinion), get the Holley from RB, not somewhere else. Holley is really bad on their quality control, but I think RB cleans them up a bit.

Mallory 110 is a great pump...its quieter than both the Holley (which can get hot and not flow properly) and the Carter. I'm using it with a modified Nikki carb and Holley reg. The Mallory regs are supposed to be a little better than the Holley, and there is also one available that can be used with/without boost, just in case later you so desire.
