Making antenna go down...

I dunno if my stock antenna is broken or not, but I can't force it to go down from the outside. How do I make it go down?

if it's hooked up properly, it should bring itself down when you turn off your deck or your car, or switch to cd. Depends on if it's aftermarket or not.

I am aftermarket--sorry, forgot to say that. I think I found the electrical connection to the motor--there are 3 wires from it, red, blue with yellow stripe, and blue with brown dots. Could I possibly hotwire the motor?

Well, turns out the antenna is broken--one of the metal cylinders of the antenna was broken (the very bottom one) and someone just shoved the broken end in. Now it's just an open hole. Will this be OK if I leave the hole unplugged?
