. Looks like an open square bore carb spacer to me.. It doesn't have 4 individual holes. That's the intake. Unless I'm looking at the wrong picture

If you ventilate the oil system by running hoses and a catch can from the Filler tube and that "blocked off center iron nipple" you don't have to run any oil hoses to vacuum to the carb.
The oil system will just get vented.

It would be on the back side of the choke horn, towards the primary float bowl adjustment nut.
I have a Trick Kit for Holley 600, it was about $40 from Autozone. I don't see any readings you are refering to on t hebody. Perhaps you can post a picture of the part of carb body I should look at, so I can take a better look.

I'll leave both top and bottom filler neck intakes open, but I will connect the bottom one to a fresh air intake (not the air filter).

Hello again,

The exhaust system has been repaired from the engine backfire accident last week and today I want to fire up the engine again and start tuning the carburetor. Before I do this I would appreciate if someone could help me understand the purpose of this free moving lever next to the throttle shaft lever. What is it for and why is it that it moves freely from one side to the other and has no return spring. It also moves back and forth with the throttle. Again, I am restoring the car and learning as I go along, so this may be all ok, or it could be that something is missing or broken.

I took a video of me operating this lever, so I would appreciate if someone can comment on this. many thanks

So I removed the carburetor spacer and the gaskets put a new gasket in and the engine fired up fine with all the vacuum lines closed on the Holley and the manifold. It does smoke a bit too much because I know I put too much 2 cyl oil in the tank. You meant to use ~1oz of oil per gallon of fuel and I put more like 8oz of oil per gallon of fuel. Anyway I'll just add more fuel to the tank and then once it stops smoking I'll adjust the idle and fuel mix. The next 'big' job is to install the throttle bracket and this will be a challenge because the bracket that came with the car doesn't fit.

stay tuned...

Today I took a video of the engine running. The idle seems too high right now, so this needs adjusting. I'll start with fast idle screw and take it from there. It could be that I left the electric choke ON for too long, so when I cranked it up the choke plate was fully open. It should only be about 1/4" open or so I think. I could adjust the idle very well by opening and closing the choke plate. In the video I say the oil leaks all over the place. This is not true. While it was evident that not all the oil lines are 100% tight, some of the smoke came from the brand new muffler which was oiled in the factory. Also both the oil pan and the oil lines are oily, because this car was sitting for 5-6 years before I got it. Does this engine appear to run fine? Yesterday when I ran the engine there was oil coming out of the exhaust but today this was not happening. Except for the idle being a bit too high, the engine appeared to run fine...but I am a newbie when it comes to rotary engines so any comments are appreciated.
