(I wish. . . )As for the speakers - when the lid is OPEN, they sound ****. The guy at the custom HiFi car place (winner of dozens of awards for his installs), gave me the details for the BEST install for an RX7. He said 2x12"s were way better than one ten, and a 15" is better for Hip/hop R&B style. (I listen to all, but ALOT of techno/trance/hi energy etc) He said to make sure I put a wall between the two speakers (They are both in a single box, with a divider in the middle) 18mil Formwood, wood glue, screws, sealed inside on every joint with clear silicon. Black heavy duty carpet to finish box. Amp is bolted onto the box in-between the two speakers - BUT I have it on two thin (2 inches high x amp length) bits of timber, and a fan at the top - blowing air down that 2 inch gap, even on the hottest of summer days in Australia (30-40c) It NEVER cuts out. they are angled facing the rear and looking at the glass. when the lid is shut and I CRANK it (800watts - I have the back two 12"s bridged) the sound bounces perfectly off the glass and fires all around the car - it sounds awesome, even at low volumes! He apparently has tried the speakers facing straight up, facing the driver, facing down - and the best was (for him anyway) how I have them. I have to say, it fair kicks butt - and amazingly not alot of vibration from the car bits - the back glass seems to distrubute the sound well.
I can still carry 6 bags of groceries in the back and NOT hit the speakers.
