Lubing the throttle plates

Plates, rods, and all that. Will WD-40 do, or should I get something better for that? Any good advice is welcome too.

Throttle body cleaning

Go to your local parts store and pick up some throttle body cleaner, it's sspecially formulated to clean and lube the throttle plates without doing any damage to bushings in the tb. Also will lube outside components.
