LSD rear ends

Kinda new to the first gens. but i have an 84 SE that i drive and a 83 gsl as a parts car. The rear end in my SE has a pretty bad leak and the clutches don't grab that well anymore. Will the rear end from the 83 bolt right up? Is there any difference. I know that second gen rear ends differ from s4-s5 and also from turbo to n/a, just don't know about the first gens. Thanks
Dom

You can not swap the Diff but you Can swap the entire rear.

The drive shaft might be different but that is no big deal if you have a parts car oh and it is a direct bolt in although your speedo will be off slightly, but everything else is the same.

Sorry to side track, but is there a way to get an LSD for my '83 GS without swapping the rear axle? I'd love to do a swap with a GSL/-SE, but I don't have the cash for the brakes, new wheels, etc. Not to mention I still want to be able to rotate my tires

All you need is an LSD Diff from an 83 or before car. you will have to change the penion flange if you get an 82 or 81.
