Low oil pressure with fd regulator

I've put an fd rear regulator and a spring with shims but my oil pressure is only ranging from 35-70. It also takes a very long time for the gauge to move. Im thinking it might be an electrical issue, any ideas?

1. My oil pan was bumped up against the oil pick up. I thought 60 was normal, until that issue was discovered.
2. Now I have a gauge that I can't trust showing 80, at most, where my prior gauge went eagerly up to 120 +.

Not saying that either of those is your issue.

I hammered out my oil pan before putting it together, I think it might just be the sensor.
