To louver, or not to louver?

I am thinking about getting louvers for my FB, It used to have them back in the day, Now that my back hatch interior looks like faded dog poop I am in the process of redoing the back and want a way to keep it looking good.

Anyone got pics or comments with past experience with them?

If you want the old school look, go for it, otherwise tint. I have one if anyone is interested.

I bought my car with them, and liked them a lot. Then I took them off just to see, and the car looked so much sleeker and cleaner without them that I never even considered putting them back on. Traded them for a parts car a couple of months later...

Do It

Why do you care what anyone’s opinion is? Do what you like. The car is a product of the 70’s louvers were popular then it lends to a retro look

I vote a huge YES. I bought the louvers for mine shortly after I bought the car nearly 28 years ago, and they've been on ever since. I like the way they look, and they make a huge difference in interior temperature, as well as protecting your carpets and vinyl trim pieces from fading. My carpets are all original and still have plenty of color in them.

If you go for the louver'd look, consider getting the ABS other than the metal, and then paint them to match the body color.

Also get the side window louvers, as well.

Personally, I've never liked the louvers for the side windows, but like the louvers themselves, that's a personal preference.

I got a set of the metal rear louvers with my 79 that the original owner had on the car for years. When I first got the car I thought I would just ebay them, but now I think I may keep them, and install them to see if I like them.I like the way they look on 64 mgb's car,snd that is basically the same as my car aside from mine is Spark Yellow.

big yes on the louvers. im a huge fan of the 80s, & the louvers definitly take the car back, lol i listen to van halen & duran duran when i drive, hahah. but ya, the inside temp is way down, and they go with my wheels in my opinion, enkies with black centers.
