I don't see what paying for all your own **** has to do with anything.

Going over twice the posted limit is just ******* retarded, I don't care if you're on a so called 'deserted road' or not. All it takes is one time to prove you wrong. What it really comes down to is that there is no 'safe' time to drive recklessly, and if you want to risk your own life, that is your business, but irresponsible actions on public roads put a lot of people at risk.

Just to put things in perspective, the amount of room you need to stop at 100 MPH is something like four times as much as 60 MPH. That's over a 100 yards. Bottom line is that if something jumped out at you, you couldn't stop fast enough, and if you tried to get out of the way, you're very likely going to face snap oversteer conditions at a speed that is reserved for the professionals.

I've done lots of stupid **** on the road, but I learned, in no small part thanks to getting involved with a local autoX organization. Being able to quanitatively measure the effect of speed on stopping distances, negotiating turns and planning braking points has really given me a deeper understanding of the limits of my car and myself.

I suggest that you adjust your attitude before a car crash adjusts it for you.

Again, maybe you're blind, there was NO ONE in front of me.

So, if I don’t have a piece of a paper saying I'm a professional that means that I don't know how to drive?

Yes, there is ONE autox race a month and you only get one run locally, yes, I do go, yes I go to the classes, yes I know braking through turns and braking before the turn blahblabhal.

I'm threw with this thread because it's like arguing to a person who thinks they are always right no matter how bad they are proved wrong.

We all do stupid ****. It's like the joke about mopeds and fat chicks, both can be fun, as long as no one sees you.
Driving at a high rate of speed, while very exciting, is also deadly. Videotaping it is not a good thing to do, though. Remember hearing about the teens shooting people with a paintball gun, and videotaping it? They used their own tape against them in court. This same kind of thing could very well have happened had any kind of accident occured.
As stated before, we all do stupid ****. Hopefully, most of learn to not repeat the stupidest of it.

You people need to lay off of Tech. There's currently a poll going that shows that most of us speed.

20 MPH, 60 MPH, 100 MPH, it's ALL dangerous. I don't know him too well, but I don't think that Tech Greek is a dumbass. Therefore, he probably knows his own limits.

As long as you don't surpass your limits, you aren't endagering anyone any more than if you were going the speed limit.

Damn **** attitudes.

The only reason why I put that video up was because of the poll, I was bored and figured why not.

20 MPH is just as dangerous as 100 MPH because you're going slower than everyone else, like jay said, it's all about your limit.

Rogue, point taken, but I just wanted to get some videos going on here.

I don't fault you for wanting video. I also don't fault you for driving the way you choose to. In many ways, driving fast is no more dangerous than driving slow. Either one can cause a serious crash.
My point was simply that we all do dumb things at some point in life. Even those that were jumping on you, have done something that they latter realized was not the most intelligent thing to do.
It was not the most intelligent thing for me to do, the day I was riding with a freind in his cobra kit car, and the top rad hose popped, @ 130MPH. I knew how he drove, and still got in the car with him.
There have been several times in my life that a major disaster could have happened, but didn't. Too many of these times were very close calls, and I was only a passenger. The closest call ever was topping a hill on a motorcycle, only to meet a sheriff's car coming at a high rate of speed, in our lane. Good thing we were actually going less than the posted limit, or we would have made the paper, and film at 11........................
His mirror broke the unlit cig in my hand, on the way past. That was (way) too close...............

At 100 MPH on public roads, EVERYONE is past their limits.

At 100 MPH with stock brakes, coming to a full stop will take at least a football field. Sudden lane changes can put the car on its roof.

In short, YOU CAN'T REACT FAST ENOUGH.

The ignorance in this thread is just ******* amazing.

So he was joy riding his beast.........Big whoopy dog doodoo...........He hurt noone, and what does it matter to you guys...it wasnt you on the road now was it......THe last time I checked you gotta break the 100MPH mark before it is considered nothing more than speeding. Thats why most newer cars governers kick in at 99......He abviously didnt make too big of a stink on the road otherwise someone would have called him in........Take your preaching to the meter maid........My 3 pennies, the extra one is to buy a life......
