loss of engine power

My 1983 Mazda Roadary has no power while switching through gears. I have changed spark plugs, plug wires, distributer cap, and fuel filter. There's only 42000 miles on the car. When I drive it I hear clicking and clunking noises, I thought it might be the transmission. I would like to know what the problem is.

Hmmm, not giving us much to go on here. Any additional details would be very helpful in diagnosing. Take a look at my signature line and include any details like that that you can think of.

Also, when did it start happening, and under what conditions? There are a lot of sharp minds watching this forum who will be happy to help. All they will need to help you is a more complete description of the issue. Thanks.
