looooow vacuum
My car will idle at 1500 rpms w/ a bit of a miss - I have about 7-8 inches of vacuum at idle(between 1-1.5k rpms)...I've gone through and sprayed my carb to look for leaks, I've double checked my plugs (I hooked them onto a vacuum pump to make sure they weren't leaking), checked the paths of the remaining lines after my emissions removal. I don't know where else to check...

well, @ ~ 1500 rpms, it's lined up w/ the yellow dot on the pulley, isn't that right? If I tuen the distributor in CW/CCW from there, the rpms go up/down, but it doesn't seem to run any smoother. Also, if I remember correctly, I did that w/ the vac gauge hooked up and it didn't really affect it much. Also, it shouldn't matter in the least, but I'm tied into the vacuum lines over by the distributor.

OK, well I removed the diaphram that you leave on when doing an emissions delete as told by RX7carl, the one that connects the oil fill tube to the carb, and it is causing a 7 inch of merc fall in vacuum. Can I just remove it and connect the filler tube directly to the carb, or is that diaphram pretty important? The part of it that comes off and has the diaphram up in it has cracks along the outer ring and leaks air when it is put together.
