Looks like it's gonna be an FC 13BT.....
Our parts deal fell though when it came to getting an REW to put into out '83 GSL.
We have decided to just throw in a 13B turbo from an FC (not sure if it's gonna be series IV or V yet).
I looked in the archives at the threads contained therein, but 90% of the links are invalid and 100% of the pictures are no longer there. I have figured out that for mounting purposes it would be easiest to run the stock 12A cover. I am guessing we will need a GSL-SE oil pan to mate up to the front cover and clear the steering linkages and account for the extra length of the motor.
Will the OMP for either series bolt up to the 12A front cover?

But we already have the stock 12A sitting there, so we could just yank the cover off of that. Would it be that much easier with the SE front cover?

Depending on which series you choose, the OMP will be different. I believe that with the S4, the GSL-SE OMP will work. The S5 is different and will require some type of custom adapting to the front cover. The S5 ecu is much different than the S4 as well, since it requires the connection to the OMP in order to get the car out of limp mode and running properly.

I do believe there are a couple people who have done custom fittings on their own, and I think they made threads about it as well with pictures. I had mine professionally done, and so the S5 OMP bolts on directly to my GSL-SE front cover perfectly.

GSL-SE front cover allows direct attachment of the S4 TII oil metering pump.It also has a perfect little boss under the OMP pad for the turbo oil drain. No special tools or proceedures required on that one, although the S4 is less desireable than the S5 engine. I did this in 01' and it worked fine.
If you are doing an S5 conversion and retaining the stock EFI,then the GSL-SE front cover can be modded to accept the electric OMP.It just requires some TIG welding and a little machining.Thats what I did 50K miles ago ago and its worked perfectly since 02'.The turbo oil drain will have to be routed to the front corner of the cover, but it will fit.
The 12A cover might be able to be modded in the same fashion, but I cant say for sure since the 12A cover has different OMP bolt holes,a different oil delivery hole and different sealing gasket than the GSL-SE.
