Looking for some help with part indentification

Alright, so I've got a new '82 project and the midst of cleaning up the engine bay a loose part was discovered somewhere close to the driver's side headlight. The part itself (photo linked below) seems to be a sort of long metal bolt with threads about an inch down and hooked on the end. There is also a sliding metal cylinder attached.

Like is said, it wasn't attached to anything, but I am just a little curious as to what it might be and what it's supposed to be doing. Obviously the car hasn't blown up without it, and there's no telling how long it's just been sitting loose like that, but any help identifying it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that's just the fastener for your battery hold-down. They're really easy to drop, so a PO may have just dropped it years ago and replaced with a generic.

It’s a screw that connects to the brace that holds down the battery.

Crit you beat me to it.

Alright, that makes sense, I guess I should have thought to look around the battery more.

Thanks for the speedy replies.
