Suspension Upgrade????

My advice is get some good shock inserts for your struts, Tokiko Blues are pretty good, but there are better choices if you want to spend more. Someone here can make a recommendation. There is nothing wrong with the stock springs for street use, if you get good damping. Better to spend your time and money on a brake upgrade and some good wheels and tires.

I have both a 12a powered 84 GSL and a V8 powered 84 GSL, and they both have stock suspension that is satisfactory in my opinion, with good shocks.

with most cars that are about 20+ years old you'll find that your stock struts are shot ... things may look alright from the outside but once you take everything apart you notice your sturt didn't do anything. I persoanlly bought tokico blues that i'll be done installing tomorrow. I bought them from ebay and the price i think was pretty good. For me personally i didn't not feel the need to get the illumina that are 5 way adjustable(aka didn't have enought money lets all admit it ) ... if you 're looking for springs ... your best bang for the buck would prob be either Racing beat (stiffer suspension more for racing) or the suspension technique (more like stock with a bit of lowering I think) ... both of these would cost you about 400$ US with shipping

I would go to a Coil-over setup and Tokico HP.

I've got Tokico Blues and Racing Beat springs. The ride is stiffer than stock, but livable. You can get the RB springs for less than any other spring set out there, and the Tokico Blues are available on Ebay for a killer deal. All told you'd be spending less than $400 plus shipping for all new springs/shocks/struts.

Can't beat that.
