So someone came in my shop today and said there was a 84 for sale about 20 minutes from where i live. Ive always been an fc guy but always wanted to get an fb also. well ive been doing quick searches to see if i can find the main things to watch out for but if anyone can give any input within the next 40 minutes while im getting ready to go look at it it would be very appreciated.

 

well its an 82 gsl-se with a fist size hole in a rocker non running no exhaust. The owner said the carb is new and the only problem so im going to go look at it today. Sunday when i went to find it i got lost so i decided to go today and did find it but the owner was not there but got a number. Someone else is looking at it at 530 so i figured i would also. He wants 800 obo

 

get some pics , with that much rust and not running i wouldnt give him 800 lol

There is no 82 Se models. They were made in 84-85 and were fuel injected from the factory. :-)

 

Offer him 200. If he wants more than that, walk away.Fist sized rust holes spell bad news. By no exhaust do you mean nothing at all, no manifold either? You may want to try and see if you can find all 6 apex's in shape. That is, depending on how long it has sat...

 

OK I went to look at it and talk to owner. The interior is exellent. Leather seats with no tears and clean carpet. The only hole is the one in drivers rocker panel. It turns out to be an 85 but it has a carbed 12a so i guess it is not the gsl-se he said it was. I put my battery in it and it cranked really slow but pulses seemed consistant just using my hand over the plug holes. I plan on putting a weber converted s4 6 port 13b i have laying around in my garage in it. I tried to load a pic from my phone but it will not send to my mail. Would 500 be too much to offer based on the description. it is pretty clean
