Interesting to say the least. Rotary in the back to cure the heavy rear bias? Whatever the reasoning it's a cool idea.

I love the rotary, but WHY? The original flat 6 was probably lighter anyway, had more torque and probably more overall potential, not to mention that it would have a lower center of gravity. Like I said, I love the rotary to death, but the porsche flat 6 engine is a work of art. They've used it so many years for a reason.

The car is a 912... flat 4, basicly a VW/914 flat 4.

I would do an ej20t swap in one of those

that car never had a flat 6 in it. Ever. Certainly not from the factory anyways.

for that price that's actually a pretty good car. Not even ugly. Whale-tail has gotta go though.

Oh, ok then. I still don't see the point. Since the 912 was basically the same chassis as a 911, you could probably put a flat 6 from a 911 in it much easier than a rotary, and still maintain maximum handling.

To tell you the truth, I didn't even realize it was a 912. Heck, I didn't even know the 912 existed as a separate model from the 911. I thought it was just a series of the 911 in between when the 911 really became popular and when the 356's were discontinued.

no it's not a vw/914 flat 4, it's a 356 flat 4 - the vw flat 4 was only in the 1976 912E, this car is almost 10 years older

ej20's are gay, so are all other turbo flat 4's Don't believe me? Look at an exhaust header.

What the hell does this mean?
"WHO DIDN'T KNOW HER SON WAS TRYING SO HARD TO LOSE HIS LICENSE FOREVER."

I'd be extremely upset if my parent got rid of my race car.

If anything, he's trying to keep it... That car is nowhere near road legal, so he/she'll be using it on the track and improving driving skills.

Not the first time I herd of this. I could see the use for a 13b, but a 12a in the porsche is just dumb. I love rotaries and all but why would you use an engine with less power, and torque. Now that does apear to be a 912, but it could also be an early 911.

All the same I would have swaped in a 911 motor, it would be alot easier.

Well the 12a has tons of potential in itself, and perhaps that is the only engine he had readily available. Considering the fact that it has a Mikuni carb on it - I'm going to say its not stock in the least, which would also imply that there is a possibility that it has more power than a 13b. Just my two cents.

Agreed. It's no secret that 12a's are more durable, which is a huge benefit in a race vehicle. I have no desire to start a 12a/13b war, but you can't bash it just because it has a .2 liter lower displacement
