longer lugnuts for my new rims?
longer lugnuts for my new rims?
so i have these 14x7 mesh rims and the stock lugnuts are just too short to reach.
i was wondering if anyone had an idea where i could get 16 lugnuts that fit my gen 1 and are longer than the stock ones or if theres another way to make these work.
thanks

just go to an auto parts store, when they lookup the correct nut it will give them the size (12 x1.50 i believe) and they can just go in the back at look at the boxes which also have the dimensions on them and find longer ones, at least that's what i'd do where I work at.
thanks guys. its much appreciated i honestly had no idea where to start.
itd prolly be easier to figure out if i knew what rims they were but they are vertually mark free except for a "CSS" right on the edge of the mesh.

Those rims require shank nuts, washers and studs. PM MosesX605. He went through the same thing with his Revolution wheels and may still have his source list.
The next time some clown balances that wheel and tries to put that many weight on the lip, tell his to rotate the tire carcass and rebalance, or find a shop with a better machine.

Ah yes, the shank nut.
If those are like my Revolutions, a standard shank nut will work, but the real trick is getting the right length of shank. I think I went with a 3/4 inch, but that could be different based on your application. The real trick is getting washers that fit. I never really did, but the ones I ended up with fit well enough. Your local parts store should have a set of shank lugs that will fit.
Shank wheels are a pain to mount, and can be problematic to balance. I lucked out on that front though, my wheels balanced perfectly and don't have any vibration at speed. The lugs do tend to losen after the initial fitment, so make sure you check them regularly. Also, when you convert to wheel studs, make sure you use Red loctite. I used Blue and almost had a wheel fall off on the highway.
