Locking the car 1985 rx7

So i just got a new car 1985 rx7
Just got a basic question its just kinda puzzling me
When i lock the doors from the inside and then i go out the last door to close the lock unlocks itself from one side only
Is that normal? and if so how do i lock the doors?

haha is it just one side tho? that's weird, mine does it from both sides lol. alright the trick is just like any other old car, when you're outside push down the lock and hold the outside handle up while shutting the door, and it'll do the trick ....idk if all old imports do this but i know the Z's do it and my friend's old mazda pick up does it.

Yup that's just how mazda made them to prevent people from locking their keys inside... that way you know that you are locking the door.

Both doors should do this, the latch on the one door that doesn't probably broke off. No big deal though, enjoy the car!
