Finally got around to fixing up my garage ornament. 83 GSL with ~40k on it. Bye bye automatic. Installed a 5 speed. Only need a few bits to make swap complete. Need shifter plate and boot. Rubber pedal pads for brake and clutch. Probably break down and buy them new unless somebody has something that's extremely good condition they'd like to sale. Rear interior resprayed in red. Brand new Mazda old stock carpet installed. I've had it for years!!! Anybody ever wash the straps in the dishwasher or anything like that? Mine sadly only had one half of the straps remaining... so I just removed it. Interior looks good.

Very pretty Mike, about as good as it gets for that vintage.

That red paint looks good! Can you tell me the brand and color? I'm redoing the same red leather interior for my 83, that paint loos like a perfect match.

It's pretty damn close. I sprayed test shots on the back of the quarter panels to see how close to original non faded it'd be. It's not exact but its dang close! Looks way way better! It's SEM 15273 Napa red. (I think the number is correct)

Looks great man!! Do you know any history on the car? I think the paint matches quite well. Is it a dye or just a top coat?

I believe the car was a one owner car. I bought it from the daughter I think. Little spruce up to low mieage 83 rx7-image-3315895916.jpg
