List of fasteners?

List of fasteners?
Soon enough I'll be installing an engine in a cheapo 1985 shell I got. I am pretty sure many of the screws, nuts, and bolts will be either missing or in bad shape so I anticipate needing some new ones.
Does there exist a list of fasteners for this car? I have a few Fastenal locations near me or could order from McMaster-Carr if I knew what I needed. But I am terrible at eyeballing and IDing them and my usual bring-one-non-missing-bolt-in-to-Fastenal might not work for some cases where all are missing.

I have bought many fasteners for my 1985 12A project from Fastenal. Most of what I've gotten is stainless steal. At one time I could get small quantities but they now make you buy the whole bag. Nothing like paying $20 for a bag of 25 nuts or bolts. If I had to do it all over again, I'd start buy laying down a couple hundred on the common stuff (10mm, 12mm, 14mm). If you want to refurbish what you have, I have found that blasting the old ones and using Harbor Freight flat black to powder coating them does a nice job. The flat black does not build up like gloss and the socket still fits without marring them up. Even the threads still fit. I apply anti-seize and thread lock where need though.
I would love to try cadmium coating at some point also.

I took a look at the car today at lunch in the daylight and took some inventory. This covers some discussion originating outside of this thread, but I suppose this is an alright place to put it.
Brake booster hose is there... is this anything special? I was thinking of replacing vacuum lines with new stuff when the engine goes in.
The good news is I have:
- rubber trans mount
- trans cross-bar I think this is a asymmetrical piece of stamped steel looking thing about 8" across right? this also has some associated-looking fasteners and hardware.
- engine cross bar
- two intact rubber engine mounts
- radiator
- front mount oil cooler
- fan shroud
I definitely am missing:
- fan (should I just get an e-fan from a Taurus or something?)
- both oil cooler lines (no idea what to do about these, are there universal-fit jobs I can do?)
- any and all radiator hose (no big deal I can get that)
- nuts for the engine crossbar->mounts
- fasteners for engine crossbar->engine
Stuff that looks broken:
- choke cable. my bad, i didn't tie it up and it dragged 200 miles under the tow bar from Washougal to Everett and now the end that connects to the carb is... half gone hahahah
- the clutch slave(?) hydraulic cylinder looks *completely* effed; cracked rubber line and the cylinder itself is a pile of rust.
Hilarious/miraculous:
- brake pedal has pressure and will hold the car still!

Congrats on the stuff you have!
Do you have the rubber brake booster hose?
As for the missing hardware, don't worry about it.
As for the fan, don't bother with an elctric right now. The goal is to get it up and running, right? Not screw around with wires and engineering stuff in such cold weather. So a clutch fan is the best choice for right now.
Oil cooler lines are no big deal.
The hardware that you think is for the trans cross bar are going to be a set of longish bolts with a 14mm head. These hold the mount bar to the underside of the car. If they are not these, you may need to get some. Then you just need a set of 14mm nuts with lock washers and flat washers to hold the mount bar to the rubber trans mount. Speaking of which, how healthy is it? New OEM ones can be around 30 bucks. The competition one is 70.
The motor mounts use the exact same 14mm nut, lock washer and flat washer as the trans mount does. One set to hold them to the car, and one set to hold the engine mount bar to them. Then depending on what year engine you have, either a set of studs with, you guessed it, another set of 14mm nuts and just lock washers, or a set of special coarse thread 14mm head bolts that thread directly into the front cover.
That's not confusing, is it?
I never heard of a choke cable long enough to scratch on the ground. I have heard of a speedo cable dragging though. I don't have any spares of either though.
Your car is an 84-85. Mazdatrix carries everything including the steel hardline. The hardline and the stainless flex line are like 13 and 18 bucks. The cylinders are more. Rockauto has better prices on these. But get the lines from Mazdatrix.

Yeah, it looks like I have the rubber booster hose. Is that a unicorn part or can I just find the right ID hose and cut to length if I wanted to replace it? I'm interested in freshening up stuff as I put it together.
That could be the speedometer cable IDKWTF... if it is, I am not super concerned about it.
I'm pretty relieved about the clutch hydraulics. It's far and away the worst looking part.
Gonna get the parts inside to clean them up this week.

why not ask MAZDATRIX ? Or order the transmission mounts from O'reilly/Kragen/Autozone and match up the thread sizes at Home Depot. Then take the parts back for a refund within a couple of days? Just go with premium grade nuts.
Or remove the transmission mounts that you have, and match things up at Home Depot.
