ok, most of you know by now about my 84 gs and shizzy; anyways, i am wondering if i can put the gsl limited slip pumpkin in my rear end without having to change out the whole axle and disc brakes and all. i have a guy at a salvage yard that has just the pumpkin he will sell me for 25 bucks. can i do this? or do i HAVE to swap out the whole rear end????

 

If the rear end is from an '84 or '85 GSL, yes, it will work with no problems.. however, if it's an '81-'83, you'll need the whole rear...

Go for it. But the whole swap would give you nice rear discs.

 

You MUST use 84-85 GSL 3rd member though. IE the axles
are larger diameter

lol, kneegrows! shizzy = i dunnoyet but i'll figure it out and shizzy. but yea, the reason i'm not looking to get the whole rear end YET is we're kinda doing this shady style LOL. we're going to a junkyard tonight. it's not open anymore or so that seems to be how it is. part of the fence is torn down so we're gonna mosey on in and grab a few things ;-)

if u wana adapt a S3 lsd to a S2 or S1, selectmaz sells new gears for inside with the smaller for the smaller axels. and i think they also have less splines on em..

not sure how much they are.

 

lol coldy13; i was actually looking for one myself! didnt have enough time though. we were already getting greedy. the fb they did have though, was pretty nice. i'm gonna go back and grab the fan, shroud, radiator, and probably a good few other things. they had an fc there too with really good seats. i might get those too. hhahahaha.
