I got tired of the box bouncing around in the back. I wanted to try something different. It took me two days, but I like it much better. I have so much more room now. These are 12's So 10's would fit a little better. The 79 rx7's have a deeper tire well. The newer 7's arent as deep.

I agree, looks awesome someday I have to get rid of my massive box, how much did the mdf for the box cost? This summer I would like to get into auto-x and with my current setup that would be impossible...

I think it was about $16 for a sheet. I only used one sheet.
I used a sheet of 1/4 mdf to make the pattern.

Of corse i made a paper pattern to ..lol... All rolled up in a tube

I'm am currently in the process of building a custom fiberglass box for 1 infinity 12 inch sub. Its gonna be different than most, because i'm gonna remove the storage bins, but keep the same shape. From the center a molded curved encloser will come out looking like a smooth volcano, and will point to the hatch on a 45 degree angle. I am going to sand and paint the box to match the black exterior. The other side of the box, opposite to the sub will be two pods molded into the box angled at the driver and passenger, These pods will hold 2 kenwood tweaters. It should sound pretty good hopefully, The only hard part will be making the volume of the box exactly to the specs of the woofer. I'll have pics in two weeks time.
