left corner hesitation

I was emailed info on how to fix left corner stumbling problems with a Nikki carb. Well I did the modification by adding baffles to stop the excessive fuel travel into the passage for the air horns float breather. Im still having a problem of the carb flooding out on hard left corners. Its a modified 79 carb. There is a small hole in the back of the left float does anybody know what this holes purpose is. Or does anybody have any other suggestions.

I've heard of it, but the baffle plate allegedly fixes it. Maybe something is wrong with your baffle setup? I dunno.
Paul Yaw mentions something about it on his site.

I have the same prob with my 80. Where did you get your baffles? And is your carb flooding out or is it starving for fuel? cause fuelstarvation is all that the baffles are supposed to fix

I am not a believer in that fix. If you look at the carb, the airhorn gasket pretty much performs that function already. I dont use that on any of my carbs and I have no stumbles. Proper fuel pressure and level in the float bowls is all Ive ever needed. And thats on a road race car on DOT slicks at high speed tracks.
If you have a hole in a float, thats a problem.

yeah I didnt have too much trouble with the tiawanese all seasons. But now that I have the kumho ecsta v700's under the car is a lot less responsive comming out of corners. Do you use the factory settings for your float level? I likewise have never had this problem before.

Yes, middle of the window float settings (factory). This allows the emulsion system to function properly. And thats running Hoosiers (read: super sticky).
