LED tail lights made for the RX-7

I have found an electrical engineer who would like to help me build a panel that will convert the RX-7s normal tail lights to HID LED lights in 20 minutes using a screwdriver and a little know how.

I wont build it unless i hear enough intrest... so would anybody be intrested in these taillights?

I am looking for a LED panel that will fill the entire light.

Is this what your making, I am interested.

Put a light plug on it so that it will just plug into the stock light bulb socket in the light.

that is exactly what i am making...it will go into the existing socket for the bulb and fill the area that was infront of the bulb...asfar as mounting goes i have been thinking of double sided tape...or screws...what do people think...

would you be intrested in an entire LED setup? ie rear stop lamps, turn indicators and back up lights?

I already have LED bulbs that plug in to the stock sockets, so you must mean a full LED panel that will still twist into a 12v socket.

What would you do for tail lights? Our stock lights use 1157 dual element bulbs for the tail and brake. Both elements recieve the same current and voltage, one being lower wattage than the other. How would you accomplish this with LEDs? A resistor of some type on the tail light circuit?

Thanks
Ben

Edit: I think I answered my own question.. But I'd still like to know how exactly to wire these things. If you have any sources for wiring LEDs, please share!

im not the engineer...so i cant tell you, but there are dual output LEDs...ie...dim and bright output, this is how the infinities and BMWs work...so i think that can be solved...but again, im just the idea man, my engineer is the guy who is gonna figure this out.

Two differently rated sets of LEDs in the same fixture should work fine. The trick is making it work with the stock twist-in connectors.

Will this be a universal panel? Or series specific? I mean a SA panel wont fit an FB one and vice versa.
