Fix it. Not like its gonna hurt anything if you fix it .

Thats the return line. I have a feeling that it could really affect gas mileage as youre basically just pumping gas ontothe ground then...

Get yourself some new hose, and replace the line. I think its like 3/16" or 1/4". Get some of the larger stuff, I think its 5/16", and do the feed line too. Also get some real clamps while youre at it.

The metal cylinder in the middle of the line is a regulator and has an arrow to show direction.

Imwith you on the pliers type "hose clamps". I hate them with a passion...

By the way, its actually a one way valve .

yeah, make sure the check valve is aimed right or your carb will become a pool.

Hey RMD, thanks for straightning out my ***. I got in my head many years ago that it would "regulate" fuel and never needed to know otherwise. I try to learn something new every day, and now I can sleep tonight.
However, here is another tid bit. IF you CAN see the arrow,,,,(it's almost impossible),,,,it points TO the carb. and in fact says CARB on it. This is confirmed in the Haynes book. Although it would make more sense to show the direction of the flow,,,, it doesn't. (or have they changed that sometime?)
So did you get that,,,,,,,,

Ok, is it a ck valve or a restrictor? I thought it was just a restrictor.
