Leading1 and trailing 1 off
I have just swapped 12a got it together and running. Idle wont go below 1100, and when checking the timing the trailing and leading for the first rotor are no where to be seen. All other wires are on the mark. I changed the cap and rotor. It has msd coils that are wired correctly. I know the timing is supposed to be set with the leading 1 first. Where could it be off?

Your main problem is checking timing at 1100 RPM. That aside, play with the vacuum pot on the distributor closest to you (bottom). It could be misaligned causing the timing to be off. Trailing slides back and forth to adjust, but I think leading is stationary. It could be tweaked on the inside though. Also try unplugging the vacuum advance vac line and see if idle drops. Temporarily stick a bolt in it or something to prevent a vac leak. If idle drops you have your lines routed incorrectly and your at full advance all the time.
Your L1 and T1 wires are the only wires you want to set timing to.
