Please if you can think of anything at all anything, oh yeah i put all new allen head bolts on the intake manifold and torqued them down good, along with a new intake gasket on the block and the bottom of the carb. you are running a holley right? are you sure you have the fuel pressure down to ~6psi with the help of a regulator? What about the floats and mixture screws? After it dies, how long until it will start again? When it doesnt start, are you still getting spark?

have you called John at Mazdatrix for help?

sounds like your out of gas.
floats?
fuel flow, just discommect the line and see how much flows into a container in 30 sec, dont smoke or have any spark around when you are doing this - right!
older car maybe a block in fuel line or outlet in tank. have you looked in your tank lately

Sounds like a simple fuel delivery problem to me.
Exactly how long does it run? Is there adequate shot from the AP?

Sounds like its fuel starved or flooding. Or it has a hellacious vacuum leak. 9 psi is too high. You will need a reg like FD Racer suggested.

Hey i never thought about checking the rods........lol, not really.

I don't doubt that the car is flooding but I have the regulator set at 6psi, It will crank back up after about 2 minutes of trying and run for a couple more seconds...it puffs out tons of gas smoke......I shouldn't have a vac leak cause i have NO vac lines at all. I am really stumped.....

I'm betting on fuel problem. I think the likely culprit is the pump overwhelming the floats causing it to flood out. Especially if it is a stock port.
Go get an adjustable holley FPR from summitt or ebay. Only $30 and easy to set with a gauge.

Oops, I mean summit. Anyways, if you're lazy:

BTW, try and find a good place to get quality fittings. The ones I got from Advanced Auto sucked. Bad.
Good luck.

I'm betting it's some sort of way the cosmos has aligned the planets directly to affect your fuel delivery. hehe.

is it ticking? you might want to check the rocker clearances...

I don't know if anyone's mentioned it, and I'm too lazy to look for it, but have you checked your fuel filter lately?

when I got my car, it had a dent in the gas tank right under the fuel pickup, which restricted the fuel flow, and on ly let the car run for a few minutes under load, and would idle for 10 or so...
