lack of power

Man it was weird today, I was driving down the Rd today and then I came to a stop light where I was like hell might as well blow the carbon out so I stepped on it after I started off slowly and shifted into second when suddenly the car bogged down and almost died. Then after 3 or 5 seconds it kicked up again and took off like a rocket. What did this? I was thinking it was my fuel like it just shut off or something then kicked back on. Hey Carl, could this be due to my fuel pump set-up, it's dying right? Anything helpfull would be appreciated.

My cars fuel pump wires were touchy and it would do that but for a lot longer times.

I have a mikuni carb with a return line set up that was turne into a 2nd fuel line with the help of a second fuel pump. They had 2 pumps on the car. It was some serious (as said by Carl) overkill. One pump died out and now it's only got 2.5 psi maybe. The engine is a Sp with headers and dellorto manifold and a full custom exhaust. Electric fan, and all the none needed crap in the engine bay taken out. I've got a holley red pump with a 41/2-9 psi regulator waitin to be put in.

Yea, that crappy pump prolly cant keep up with what the carb needs when you open her up. When we get that fixed, you shouldnt have a problem.
