L/T coil wires............

The other night I was looking and quite frankly not paying much attention when I thought I had my L/T wires backwards. So I switched them and fired the car up. Got her warmed up and it idled smoother and at about 750 rpms. I come to find out that the 2 wires were on properly before I switched. What should I do? Leave them that way or what? It idled better after the switch..... And the leading coil is closer to the strut tower correct? Just checking..........

Yes, the trailing coil is toward the front of the car because the trailing part of the cap is further forward. This keeps the coil-to-cap wires from having to be twisted over each other.

Yes. You should have them plugged in properly for the car to run right. It could be that its running better because the spark is stronger through the trailing coil (now going to the leading plugs), or the dizzy cap and rotor arent as worn, or the wires arent causing as much resistance, or even the ignitors. This is why its a good idea to replace stuff like cap, rotor, wires, etc because the resistance through them will cause a weak spark, which causes a loss of power, or smooth running. The rotary engine by nature has an odd shaped combustion chamber (hence needing two plugs per combustion chamber), so in my opinion, if it was designed to have two plugs firing per explosion, that to me says it needs all the help it can get with combustion, so I tried to keep my stuff for the ignition fresh, and also did the DLIDFIS converions.
