I sure hope you are joking with 650 posts you have on a RX-7 forum???
For ur info (if you are actually ignorant enough) first gen has a Rotary Engine. It has two rotors. No pistons

How about we change the question to how many cylinders does and Rx-7 have? That way we can add door locks, and other misc. junk. Doesn't the OMP have a small pin sized piston too. Jeez, we're going to be at 36 in no time.

Actually, the RX-7 has dual/split braking system... The master cylinder is a single cylinder, but two pistons...
Two hydraulic systems, one for front-left and right-rear; One for the front-right; left-rear brakes... In the event of a hydraulic failure, you still have some braking ability.

I have diagrams from my text book from "Basic Braking systems"... A course I took while working for a shop.
Hey... Get paid to sit around and discuss brakes... I'll do it!

The stock fuel pump has an electromagnetically operated piston in it.
The float bowl solenoid is essentially a piston that closes off the vent when the car is shut off.

ah crap guys, think about it, most solenoids act as pistons.
just think about the rat's nest.
S, GS, GSL, or GSL-SE?
5 speed? Automatic?
You could count the pistons inside the valve body of the automatic transmission...
