I sure hope you are joking with 650 posts you have on a RX-7 forum???

For ur info (if you are actually ignorant enough) first gen has a Rotary Engine. It has two rotors. No pistons

If the hatch struts count, then I can think of 17. Ones mentioned above, front struts, rear shocks, and the 2 front & 2 rear bumper stocks.

How about we change the question to how many cylinders does and Rx-7 have? That way we can add door locks, and other misc. junk. Doesn't the OMP have a small pin sized piston too. Jeez, we're going to be at 36 in no time.

so not true, your tires have valves, but no pistons, unless you count the valve core plunger. some game this is, hey everyone think of ever single itty bitty part on a 1st gen and figure out how many pistons there are

Actually, the RX-7 has dual/split braking system... The master cylinder is a single cylinder, but two pistons...

Two hydraulic systems, one for front-left and right-rear; One for the front-right; left-rear brakes... In the event of a hydraulic failure, you still have some braking ability.

The stock fuel pump has an electromagnetically operated piston in it.
The float bowl solenoid is essentially a piston that closes off the vent when the car is shut off.

My dad and I had a discussion about the brakes a long time ago and it ended up with both of us getting annoyed and not really solving anything, if what you say is right then he was correct.

For those of you that still have AC, you need to add the pistons in the compressor.

S, GS, GSL, or GSL-SE?

5 speed? Automatic?

You could count the pistons inside the valve body of the automatic transmission...
