Key Code Question

other than on the key, did mazda stamp the key code into any other lock cylinder on an 82 RX-7? i know on some other cars, the key code is stamped into the passenger door's lock cylinder. just curious before i swap out all of the locks and ignition cylinder with a spare set off of my parts car. thanks in advance for any advice!

Take a door lock to a locksmith. They can cut a key to fit. Then, hope all the locks are the same............

if the locks are original, then the passanger door lock will have a code stamped on it, most locksmiths can cut a key from thier codebook..
as far as making a key from one of you existing locks, i would be weary as the pins wear out in the door locks on our cars(hence why most any key opens your doors) so it wont work your ignition unfortinatly.. if your forced to make a key from one of your locks use the trunk lock as its used the least amount so the pins will have the least amount of wear
