Nice job! What's hi-fill? And why does it have to settle? Haha sorry I'm n00b. But it's looking very nice! What color are you going to paint it? Keep up the good work.

This one will be restored back to Totally Original condition! as it left the factory in Japan. its Original colour is Silver, and it will be resprayed Original silver.
The Hi-fill layer is like a putty type primer layer, and it will fill into all the sanding marks, scratches etc in the metal underneath the Hi-fill layer is then lighty sprayed with Black primer, then it is rubbed back the black primer will show up the high spots and Low spots as its sanded allowing you to get a near perfectly flat surface ready for the Colour coats of paint. Unfortunatly some painters will begin the rub back process a day after the Hi-fill is applied not giving it a chance to cure and settle properly and you can imagine what this can do if the colour coats are applied too soon.
1 More week to wait befoe its rubbed back and the first of many colour coats applied!
here are the before pics.

Very nice.
I'm doing the rattlecan on a red 83 I got free. Lot's of body work - more than I intended, but once I started I couldn't stop. I'm shooting early, and rubbing out as I go. I hose it down before wetsanding to find high/low spots and mark them with a china marker for further filling/sanding. My worst problem was the checked paint on the hood. Once you get it masked this car is so small you may as well do the whole thing.
