TurboSE: Did you read up on the transistor trick thread (last portion)? It appears the pulse width control didn't help the heat issue (so far). You could probably go with the simpler version (the one you were going to build). I am going to build a few that can switch between the two modes (fixed pulse, and let the 1st gen set the pulse). Did you want me to build you one too? Once I find the best layout they should build pretty fast.
