Just got a Free 85 rx7 gs!

Got an 85 gs free. It needed fenders and front clip. Purchased fenders and front clip from a scca friend all for $100.00. So far 100 invested. next step need to fix front breaks. The guy I bought it from changed breaks, and now it locks up. He got frustrated with the car and gave it to me. He bought it 2yrs ago for 1200.00 for his son. His son wanted some big hooptee ride, hated the rx7. His daughter wrecked it when the breaks went out. He tried to fix the breaks and couldnt. Sat for 8months then told me to come get it or he would junk it. Now I got it, and just got the front fenders, bumper valance and grill. The rest of the body is straight with a little surface rust. It has 175k on the 12a motor. Sounds good, carb looks fairly new. Any advice on maintance? I did notice an oil leak. What kind of gas mileage can I expect? Its a 5spd. Also he thinks some teeth may be missing on the flywheel. He said every once and awhile you need to cycle the key over to get the starter to engage. Any advice will help. Eventually I would like to have the engine rebuilt (stock). Does anyone have an idea how much that would cost? I have seen rebuilt ones on the Net for 1800.00. Hey, its a project car I want to have set up reliable for my daughter when she turns 16, in a couple years. Thanks

as far as the starter goes the same thing happend to my gsl-se. I doubt that teeth are missing because i dont think cycling the key would help, you would have to move the flywheel. All i did was clean the connections.Or maybe the selinoid is bad. The gas varies in my car....but i also drive it hard as in i dont shift until high rpms but if you do a search you find the answers your looking for or check out the FAQ they are great.
