just bought a GSL-SE, what can be done?
Hey all, been an FC owner for a while but I just picked me up a 85 GSL-SE with less than 68k on the clock. It has a little mashed up front end, but nothing that isnt fixable. I got a good deal (I think) for $800. I had some questions, if you could be so polite to help me out, I would appreciate it.
1. The clutch pedal feels real stiff, is the stock pressure plate kinda stiff?
2.It seems like most of the ***** are down low, and that doesnt sound right for a rotary, so I'm thinking the clutch is slipping, what do you think?
3.Could you tell me and real easy things to do to get some power outta this beast?
Thanks all.

Definatly a good deal, even if it has low compression. Rust is the major factor, everything else easily replacable
1. My SE is the same way. Took a few to get used to the clutch. As long as it grabs good, and the pedal is adjusted it's fine.
2. When the clutch slips the rpm will rise with negative corilation to your acceleration. Yes, I think the SE has a noticable amount of more torque compared to FB's and FC's. If it feels like good power down low and kind of fades as it revs; replace fuel filter, make sure 6 ports are opening. My SE had the symtoms you speak of when I got it. Replaced the filter and wwwaaabaaam!!
3. No AC, PS, Air pump, Open intake, Header with full exhaust, MSD with upgraded coils and wires, Throttle body mod, electric fan, pulleys, cleaned and port matched manifold, cleaned or new injectors,.................. turbo
Good luck
