"Junk"...more like ignorance most likely
From my experience, most people who wave at me on the road say something like, " I used to have one of those, they last forever!" I was at a local Miata meet, and told them (one of the guys said he was on a crew for an IMSA RX-7) it just broke 100k miles, they said I practically had a new engine.
the only bad mouthing I ever got was from "ricers" or people who only drive in a straight line.

My old truck was a 1990 Chevy S-10 with the 4.3L. That truck ran strong, despite all the abuse I put it through. Personally, I think any cars made after 1996 are junk because all these car companies are looking for cost-effective ways to improve things while cheapening costs and labor. It's a shame that nowadays they're not as focused on engine reliability like in the old days, when cars were cars.

I love the design and characteristics of a rotary engine. I have always enjoyed high revving, smooth engines. When I first learned of the rotary I was imediatly hooked. Does that mean that I think rotary engines should be in every SUV or family sedan on the road? I think not. I think rotary engines are a perfect example of an enthusiasts engine. They are unique, involving, and can be manipulated to make large amounts of power.
