jump start = bad

So say you jump start the car (85 GS) and there's this huge arc on the positive terminal. Now the car cranks, gets fuel, but no spark. What could be wrong? It was dark and I couldn't check much, but my guess was it fried the coil/ignitors. I did pull the distributor cap and it looked ok, rotor looked ok too. Not great, but ok.

Check the fuseable links under the hood.

yea, check the fusible links, the center one is for the engine, the other two, your two headlamps. and you may need to replace the ignitors.

This was from 12 years ago. I doubt the member is still around but you never know I guess. You might want to start your own post once you have posted enough to get answers.
