My respect for you just went up 150%...I was too into "what does the world owe me" when I was young to consider "losing" time in the military...I now do small stuff in the local community and give to Veterans' charities to soothe my guilt for not serving a little for my country...and, no, I was doing this BEFORE 9/11....

forkers.

Anyways, I've always loved technology, from blinking lights to whirring motors, so it's easy to understand why I love the rotary so much. Elegant solutions for nasty problems impress me so much more than kludges that people piece together.

Ok, I have to say I didn't think this post would be so good. But then I see it as being very beneficial because now if anyone has any probs you can reference who to bug about it.

I'm a apprentice technician for Merchant's Tire and Auto... It's an east coast chain of shops.

I am currently in college, studying for my Associates degree in Network Engineering/Administration. I thought just outta high school ,I could get a good job like some of my friends.. but I guess not. That A+ and computer repair experience failed me.. no jobs.. Computers are cheap enough that if they break down afterh teh warranty is over.. toss em and get new ones.

So after the degree, if the IT industry fails me again... I'll get my ASE and become a full fledged mechanic.

I've also been an apprentice electrician.

I don't much like working with people and customer service... The customers that come to me always tend to be ********.

Thanks for the good word. Its kinda cool Ive been to about 25 different countries and gotten paid for it all. Has the down side to it, (Crouched against a brick wall with rounds popping off it 2 feet above your head) but all in al I wouldn't trade my time in for anything.

haha gump. I took teh EET course in Calgary here @ DeVry. The recruiting officer told me that devry had mech eng.... so i went there because of the 3yr instead of 4yr program.. BIG mistake.. DEVRY is **** here in canada. It isnt recognized by anyone, and is ******* expensive. Needless to say, it wasnt what I wanted, blew $5,000 in one month, and left. Worked for a year.. I'm a job ****, hard worker, never been fired, always upgrading to the next job. I've had my own lawn mowing biz from 8yrs old - 13.. shingled houses wit my dad, done framing carpentry, construction, yard work, gas jockey for 2 yrs in HS, been a painter, a part time electrician's apprentice, refereed recreational hockey as well as played, trucking grain, farming, part time mechanic, drove a forklift in a Scott Paper warehouse for a yr, worked in a car audio store, worked at Crappy tire, worked @ UPS, im sure I havent named half of em. A lot of different trades, etc. I guess a jack of all trades, master of none.. cept ************ :P.. I am currently in engineering in university. This summer I will either go work on the oil rigs or, work road construction. Either or will be at least 68hrs a wk. I love my 7, know a lot about it, put a lot of time into it, also my dirt bike, and am an avid sledder (snowmobiling). Watersports are also great, and I guess I am pretty easy going. Nothing beats the freedom and nirvana of being on a sled in minus 12C weather, clear skies, fresh powder, sun shining and cracking open the throttle hitting 3 digit mph's on a sled. My roommate has an FD, and thinks I am a manwhore. I like to think I am not.. altho I love being single, and having multiple "friends with benefits" girls. Your only young once.. live it up! 19yrs old, I turn 20 in May.

Another post from the dead. I thought I responded to this one but I don't see my post, so maybe there's a parallel post out there somewhere. Anyway, it's an interesting question. Me, I'm another biology teacher, specializing in biochem, microbiology, immunology and rx-7 repair.

I am in Industrial Automation.

I do front line technical support for Omron Industrial electronics.

I am a Linux nut. I sue it every chance I can.

The trend that seems to show up is that technically minded people know an unique/great thing when they see it.

I'm 31 (or is that 32), I work in the Technical support department for Purolator Courrier Ltd, and bought my 85 gs last year.

I think I was 16 and pumping gas at my uncle's garage when Isaw my first RX7, it was then that I knew that all other cars pale in comparison to the 7.
