Jet sizes in 12a bridgeports?
I'm wondering what size jets some of you 12a bridgeported holley carb setups are running? Mine seemed to be starving a bit so I cracked her open and there were 50's in it. Now My stock port RB holley carb has 50's in it so I'm wondering if thats much too small. I noticed the biggest difference in power after I got my car back from the shop after they put a new exhaust setup on her. RB header to presilencer to a high flow cat to my Aeroturbine muffler. All done in 2.5. I think opening up the exhaust more leaned her out a bit.
I did try using some larger jets but All I had were 56's and they work to an extent but end up flooding it. Its also VERY hard to start when warmed up. But starts fine when cold. Thanks guys!

which bridge port? which exhaust? what AFR? what fuel pressure?
i discovered with the PP that the list of jets mazda has for my engine totally didn't work. i ended up with something COMPLETELY different.
i am running more muffler and fuel pressure then they were, and i'm running it leaner under 3000rpms than they were
go buy some jets and play, holley jets are cheap!
sounds like 52-53 might be good on the primaries, if 50 is lean and 56 is too rich...
and then you also get to play with the secondary jets too

Thats why I always wondered how RB could send "ready to go" carbs that just needed dialed into your engine. lol I guess i just kinda wanted to know what size RB puts into their carbs. And I was thinking for the secondaries the jets were built into the plate making it impossible to change them...... maybe that was just my 465 from RB.

yeah Jim is a great guy, ive had the pleasure of meeting him, but he's either got huge *****, or actually IS a great tuner to be able to sell jetted carbs that work!
the ONLY thing in his favor is that if you buy his intake/carb/porting template/exhaust/fuel pump/regulator this removes a lot of the variables. he does have some sort of test rig, and he does actually build all the carbs himself*
no secondary jets? that's weaksauce! i'd make sure, i'm sure you can BUY something that fixes this....
*since he's near retirement age, i would expect he's trained/training someone else to do it
