Not since I've owned it.

how?

No, I'm a newb

The hood is off. Easier to jump it from my truck that way.

There's an update, though.

I tried some tricks (like setting it up right) and ALMOST got it to start.

Normally when I tried to start it it goes Vmmm. Vmmmm Vmmmm.

After the tricks:
Vmmm. Vmmm. Vmmmmmmmmm.

And it started idling. And then I was my own downfall:

I drained the battery, and was jumping it from my truck. I look out the window, and the jumpers were smoking. I overheated the cables!

So, I have to wait until tomorrow when the car is done charging to finish up with stuff.

BTW, I think my exhaust is leaking GAS. I'll have pics up in a bit.

BTW, I meant LIQUID gas, not normal exhaust gas.

fun jay, i know the carb works, although my bro (bkm_rx7) never witnessed it, me and my dad got it running with a massive leak between the carb and the intake manifold, didn't idle worth **** but i drove the car for about 2-3 miles before my bros wheel came off almost all the way....by the way i was pissed after all the work i did to his car, he didn't tighten the carb down....and he didn't tighten down the lug nuts either...lol

But the carb works good, we just kept burning up fuel pumps, so i never had a good chance to tune it in...then he bought a holley. WE still have that fuel pump problem too, i think the count is five or six burnt up pumps, can't remember...sorry bout the rambling haha

Strange, because I'm getting a gas leak between teh carb and manifold. But, um. Oh, jeez. I didn't put a GASKET!

But, yeah, the carb works. Do you think it could just be the link trickling down the exhaust?

That thing circled is the cat, rigth?

Exclamation

I believe that is a positive ion stem from a prototype flux capacitor.

You don't need a gasket. The phenolic spacer has something like a gasket permanently on it. You just need to make sure you've gotten the bolts tightened well. How do you know you're leaking gas there? Can you see it running out?

Can't tell if you've circled the cat or something else. Can you take a pic from another angle? And how about a pic or two of the carb, like where you see fuel leaking?

Well, it's leaking where the carb attaches to the intake, not alot, just from the two corners that don't have bolts (where DID those little devils go? Don't worry, they didn't fall into the manifold. I think the dog ate them)

The thing I have circled is a large square thing with a hole it it. Looks like it shouldn't have the hole.

The angle looks real weird because of the tires. Rest assured, one of those tires belongs to my truck! (left side of picture)

I can take some pics in a couple of hours, my car isn't at my house.

BTW, it's got little leaks all up what I assume is the exhaust. I assume it's the exhaust because I can follow the mufflers back to it

Peace

Well Jay, I suggest you inspect the dog's **** because you need those nuts. Alternatively and a cleaner way, get new ones.

Okaaaaaay. I get it. That would help contribute to leaking.

Even my brain dead boxer won't eat bolts. Everything I plant in my backyard is another story. Why would a dog eat plants with thorns on them? I guess that's a question for a different forum.

Anyway, on the missing bolts. You ought to be able to pick them up at any hardware store that stocks metric bolts. Not looking at a carb right now, but they're probably M6 and you might as well pick up a few different lengths. You'll use 'em as you find other bolts that have fallen out and been eaten by dog or horse.

Edit: I must be serious out of it today. The carb sits on studs. You need the nuts. But you can probably get them too at the h/w store.

Yeah, lol. This is actually a rather smart dog, but we often find it eating stuff around cars. Maybe it wants to be a mechanic?
