if its painted right.. trust me.. it looks good..
have a look at early 90s car.. and compare it with the interior of the 85.. not much difference..
u wouldnt lable a 1990 camry as an old vintage would ya?
now.. appropirate vintgiity.. are cars like.. old fords.. those really old restored cars.. which open the opposite way.. rolce royces.. those are classics which should keep their interiors as stock as possible.
but the first gen isnt that old!
maybe give it 20 more years.. then we can start keeping our first gens as stock as possible for historical purposes.. because by then.. cars will by flying...but till then LETS GO CRAZY ON THE MODS!

I'll post some pics of my new stuff soon. From the other picture I have silver gauges REverse glow gauges, sparco pedals and a new steering wheel that is the same style as the old one only its red and black instead of just red.
All the pieces I have painted on my car I have stock replacments sitting in my garage. I can take it back to stock any time i'd like. A little color IS nice though.. makes the interior look more modern.
These are pics of my interior, some parts look a bit orange, but that's the light/flashlight. Actually, it's real red. The pics still show my old steering wheel, but that's since been replaced by a Momo wheel. The momo wheel is red/black aswell, and finishes the interior a lot better then the wooden wheel.

The car is detailed down to the black with red floormats ( Eurorotor ones, very nice!)

This is a website pic of my steering wheel, I don't have a specific one of my car.

Wow, some nice interiors. I'll take a look at that plasitkote stuff, sounds interesting, especially if it can turn my wine interior black. Do I need to primer it or use some kind of filler to keep it smooth?
On a side note, how had is it to put in seats by just welding the rails in? Or are there a lot of nice seats that are made for the FB?

Who did your seats just curious? Me and my mom did mine. When I get home I will take a pic so you can actually see the whole interior. But they look exactly the same, My seats are 1980 LMT. Ed. Seats. Black and red.

The interior was grey, now it's black/red. the 84-85 interior only came in grey, burgundy or borwn so I had no choice but to paint it.
The steering wheel on the Pic has been pulled out in favor of a Momo knock-off just like its shown in Rotary Emotions pic.
The seats are still grey (procastinating) can't decide to go with leather BMW (recaro) seats or grey T-II cloth seats that will need to be dyed to match the theme. I find myself hesitating on the leather due to my driving style (slip slide... baby
)Although not shown, I also painted the headliner black. Many people have seen it and they swear its factory
.My next upgrade (when I get off my lazy ***) is to get white face gauges, paint all the carpet and rear interior panels, door panels (after I install Pwr. windows) including seat belts, and of course decide which seats to go with.

Now here is a kit I gladfully passed on, but... I just couldn't let the wheels go 225/50/15(F) 285/50/15(R) so now they're mine
and my personal favorite kit is...
DROOL....
There is another one I just can't find right now, but it's right up there with this purple one as a personal favorite. Maybe someone here can remember it? It was silver and the pic was taken inside a shop and I think the poster said it was somewhat abandoned. Anyway when you look at it from the front, you'd swear it was a Porsche 959.... OH, SO SWEET!

Look up a company in Toronto called Parasol Inc.
Amazing stuff - allows you to go with any color you want on leather, vinyl, or softer plastics. I bought a pint and had enough for my door panels, e-brake, horn botton, and rear wheel covers (with a little left over)
HAD TO DO IT... JUST HAD'TA !!!
If anyone is interested in seeing the one that didn't show (on top) here's the link: http://www.geocities.com/rx-2/propane.html
Ugly *** car, but nice-*** wheels (now mine)
