Interesting spark issue! MSD or crank angle?

My GSL-SE S4 SP motor has been getting very bad gas milage (150 to a full tank) so I was looking under the hood.

I figured it might be slightly off timing but then I did not think so since it has 1k miles on the rebuild. So I thought some thing must be worn out. So since the cap, rotor, wires (stock NGK), plugs (7's and 9's), belts, injectors (rebuilt 710cc), and fuel filter have all replaced or rebuilt that leaves the coils. So while she was running I pulled of the trailing coil wire. Well, the motor ran the same and the coil had weak spark when it bit me. So I put that one back and pulled off the leading coil wire. Again the motor ran the same but the spark coming out of the coil was jumping to the battery hold down bracket. I had to shut the car off to put that one back on. That one worried me a bit!!! Well, now I am thinking should I put MSD blaster coils on or use the crank angle sensor and stock s4 coils?

Anyone had them both? Which ones did you like better?

Well the funny thing is that is had a slight miss so I hit it with a timing light. It was way out (advanced) so after about 3 hours of Trevor and myself trying to get it right on we have put it back the way it was. We can not get this stupid car to run good when it is dead on time.

Gonna ask Landers since he is the one who built it. Maybe since all the emission stuff, SP, and the TB mod you have to run it 20 out.
I did swap the coils to the msd blasters I had new in the box.

i just put msd blaster 2 coils im my GS along with the racing beat wires and oh man is it nice. i might be crazy but it feels like i have much more powerful acceleration and better throttle response...especially in the higher rpms.
