If the body and frame are perfect, I'd be very interested. In fact, a perfect body with horrible paint is acceptable, also...it's the only way I'm gonna stay in the rex club unless the company that employed the old man coughs up some big bucks. I'm not too sure that's how it's going down, though....
the frame is perfect.......... the body... um... there is a new dent in the fender, but you can pop it out, no biggie.... um... paint sux..... drivers dor hinges are bent, which caused the fender to ben in, when I opened the door...
Um... there is a star in the windshield..... um.... what else.... that about cover's it..... and there is storage room over here to do all the swaping...... I have an engine hoist right now too.....
So, everything will pretty much be simple..... just have to do the work.... which I will help all I can with...
It has a tittle... so thats a plus..... So, tell me whatcha think.....
Or, you can always sell whats left of your car to me
hehehehhee.... j/k you should keep it...... So, you still stoping by??? Still interested in that sunroof? If so, if not, tell me..... I know some others that want it too
LOL.... oh yeah, the 79 has a sunroof.... but not a glass one
LOL...... so.... tell me whats up.....
THANX, LATERZ, Andrew

If the sunroof is still available at the $$ we talked about, get it for me. I'm going to see how the insurance companies play this out to see whether or not I'll be attempting a transplant...I once claimed that $300 perfect body cars were a cinch to find, so now it's time to walk the talk...
well, I will do EVERYTHING to the body..... and sell it to you for $300
I was just hoping you will give me like 200, or somtin, cause I owe $270 to my mom cause the stupid thing...... so.... I will get it perfect for you, except the windshield
...... If I didnt owe anyhting on it, I would give it to you, but since I do, I need somtin outa it...
....... If you want to bring your car over here, I will do everyhting to it..... (drop the motor, and tranny in, put the wiring harness in, ect...ect...ect..... have the body straight...... for 300
) This next tuesday I got a guy bringing me an 86 GXL, and he wants me to pull it, and replace all the gaskets, cause an o-ring went out.... So, I might just wind up replacing the housings too..... so.... when ever you want to start, bring it over here
I am ready when you are..... And if you dont have the money at hand, dont worry about, I trust you to pay me
......
So.... Do you have another car to drive??? or was that it?
And I HOPE you werent drinking, and driving AGAIN to destroy the beutiful machine.... cause that will be an *** kicking
J/k I cant fight
.......hehehehee.......

Big as you claim to be, you'd probably put a hurtin' on me...(that's Texan talk for all the Canucks out there...) I've got cash...PM me today on your address and I'll peruse the body...just the address, I've got a Mapsco and I detest directions, I'm ex-UPS and male, don't need no stinkin' directions!!
And no, I was not drinkin or even hung-over. Old fool in a new Cadillac changed lanes right when I got to him. He was doing all of 5-10 mph and I was doing 40...now you know the rest of the story....

Here is the official end of the An Interesting 1stgen Adventure Part I in full living colour...I've only just today made actual contact with the insurance company that handles GM's cars...the guy was an employee of GM Quik Check, which is a shell of a company actually owned by GM...this is going to be fun...
Graphic example of a 40 mph impact into a 5 mph Cadillac bumper which was only pushed in about 10"...it all happened on rain slick roads, so basically, I didn't brake at all for this one...I'll post some pics of the steering wheel which I had a death grip on in the classic 3 and 9 O'clock positions when I hit...again, I'm OK...

can you say "le ouch?"....

Peace...

This Hurts. Looks like it COULD rebuilt. I am sure that you could still use 90% of those parts.
Good Luck Mar3..
We will have a moment of silence for your Rex.

Here's to your new one
coming soon right?
On a different note, what were those Vents/Slits on the Hood? I couldn't really tell from the posted pics. Do you have any more pictures of the hood and such?

Sorry for the crudeness, but this was done before the Kodak came into my hands...
man that sucks,
finally someone who actually puts their money where their mouth is on the dyno,
has some goals set
ready to make improvements on the car that can be oficially noted,
then BOOM its all gone,
son of a bitch
good luck on the new one,
there is a new one coming right?

Although I was going back and forth earlier on whether or not to stay in RX-7's, I am now actively pursuing several leads on bodies...the CBird (as I call the convertible '68 Firebird...) has reminded me how much gas 360 horse engines drink despite having a Quadrabog, and so the 17.5 mpg my little streeport 12A was doing looks much better now as a daily driver!

That, and Paul Yaw is correct...my Nikki was bone stock...it absolutely killed any airflow on the intake side...I hear you, directfreak...those holes were going to have a combo air-dam (think 2ndgen Pontiac T/A fender vent...) with louvers ala Viper on a riveted plate...I bought perfect plates to go underneath that would have allowed hot air to vent out of the engine bay but not allow water to dump into said engine bay when the car was not moving...I guess its better that I never got to complete that particular project...

........ Port you intake...... and modify you carb, per sterlings report.... CHEAP EASY, AND COST EFFECTIVE......
I love my carb now..... but now I need a bigger fuel pump.... well.... only if I romp on it too much
We need to stick my carb on your engine(when the "new" car is done
)..... and go dyno it
... hehehee......

Fiend!! The intake is ported, but that doesn't help when the carb flows only 315 cfm...optimized, Paul Yaw claims a stock Nikki on a streetport should be limited to about 145-150 HP...I was pretty close with about 130 HP, but my carb was a mess...when the rotary phoenix rises again, I'll set the carb right, change plugs and hit the dyno again to see what gains I get there...then G-Tech a parking lot that same day for a valid comparison of the two methodologies...

All the pictures got lost from the last server swap, but this is to close this chapter in the ill-fated '80 RX-7s story....the Rotary Performance Big Streetport has been plucked and sits waiting for the 155,000 mile engine in Furious Rex (Another thread on that one coming up...) to die its nitrous death this spring...

Here's the exhaust plucked out for all to see....missing is the Edelbrock RPM muffler used as a "pre-silencer" between the 3 way cat and the end Flowmasters...that's what it took to silence the beast enough so that normal conversation could be possible at a stoplight or idling...it had become a hodge podge of different pieces because of successive work done by different exhaust shops replacing components as they failed...this is going to be a pattern for Lane Exhaust of Dallas,TX to reproduce in mandrel bent stainless steel once I figure out the downpipe needs and how far the cat should sit from that...
