Ok, maybe the 3rd time will be the charm.

I hope that you will make a note of this thread so that in the future you can refer to it.
Then as you find out answers to your questions you will post them in the above linked thread so that when others need reference material it will be there.

Its hard to sort through information, btw this is a forum so if your thread answered all the questions then there would be no reason to have a forum at all. I ask questions like these because often ppl who have swapped things out will know right away and post, so i dont have to sift through piles and piles of information for hours. Although i did find rack information, i didnt find the exact wiper information, so i still do not know if they are interchangeable, the racks are the same, but i dont know if the wiring is different.

Wiring info can be found by comparing the wiring diagrams of the needed model years, but I guess that would be sifting through a known resource and asking a question is easier, lazier and less learned in the long run.

Lets see, I just went to Rockauto.com and looked up a wiper motor for a 79, then a 85. Came up with the same part # which is 431470. I am on dial up and it still only took me alittle less than 5 minutes to accomplish this.

May I suggest also that you request a catalog from Black Dragon. You will find that most of the common parts that are on our cars are covered there.

Hey Chedda one little tip - when I pulled the motor on my SA, the harness connections basically DISINTEGRATED because of years of UV exposure! both the car main- harness side AND the motor side. I had a spare harness so I swapped in 2 connectors and was back in biz - and I shrink wrapped these to protect from UV. Anyway, something to be prepared for...?
