Intake too loud!

I have 12a SP with a DCOE45. I don't know if it's because I have a louvered hood or what but the intake is LOUD! Any ides on how to quiet it down some? Maybe an airbox, but I dont know if that'll help.

I did notice that when the trailing is disabled it's a little more quiet.

air box will help. i have a PP engine, and putting the stock 12A air cleaner on it makes a huge difference in noise.

Thats the best part about having a large 2 barrel carb on a rotary, the noise they
make. Alll that hissing when idling and then the roar when you open the throttle
following by the exhaust note as it winds out. Heaven!

I used to love that noise back when I was NA. Now that I have a carb hat, you can still hear it a little bit, but it's not as noticeable. But in return I got the sound of the turbo spooling, so I guess it's okay.

When I had a sidedraft on mine it was the only car I have had that had a louder intake than exhaust!!!! It sounded awesome! (My wife was not a fan however!)

I was surprised at the reduction in the sound when I switched to twin weber 36 dcds.

I'll never forget the first time I took the air cleaner off my Dellorto after doing some carb work and just took it around the block....the noise! twas beautiful! Hell when I used to start my car at 6:45 in the morning and set the choke during the winter, I could go inside and eat breakfast and still hear the hissing from the choke lol.

I would definitely say it depends on the filter you use, if you're not using a filter or using socks, it'll be loud, but I just use one of those Oval K&Ns and it's loud on WOT but other than that it's pretty quiet...but then again my exhaust is loud.
