Intake Manifold question

Just got my intake manifold gasket & orings (85 12a) from mazdatrix. When I took the manifold off of my old engine it seemed like it had the regular gasket material along with form-a-gasket. Is it necessary or recommended to use some type of liquid gasket along with my pre-cut gasket, or is it good enough without it?

you don't neccessarily NEED to use it, but it helps. don't lay it on thick, just a nice little bit to help out.

but, i will throw this out... on my old turbo setup i never even used gaskets. RTV only

I never use sealer. The only reason I would is if the mating surfaces are gouged and need sealer to fill them. Another reason for not using it is the squeeze out. It will form a ring around the intake port and disturb the flow. If you feel you need it, use as little as possible and smooth out as much as possible with your finger.
