Intake Manifold

Hi.

I drive a 1982 RX 7 GS, pretty much stock except my interior, and it's down, waiting on a new carburetor.

While it's down, I've decided to try taking some stuff off, just to know I can when the time comes.

I've tried taking the Intake Manifold off, but it doesn't seem to want to come off.

I took off all the bolts I could find, and even one little one that I couldn't see, but felt. It still doesn't even want to budge.

Is there a well known bolt that I'm missing? Or something else completely differnet?

Thanks (and I searched, but couldn't find anything to help me out)

6 bolts hold the intake manifold on.. if you got them all try a little bit of blunt force to get break it lose.. you're most likely gonna need a new gasket to put it back on though..

YES!!! Make sure to change your intake gasket for sure... And you need to replace the 2 coolant o-rings as well (when you actually get the intake off coolant is gonna spill everywhere) these deffinatly should be replaced to prevent leaking. Yes there are 6 bolts that hold the intake on, you should be able to run your fingers along the intake and find them. I was able to sqeeze my head between the fender and engine in order to find a couple hidden ones of mine.

Well, I was trying to use a screwdriver to get it off, and the shaft on the screwdriver was bending.

Six? I'm only remembering five. . . .

There's the two clearly visible ones on top. Then there's the two that are 14mm that you can only get to by removing that metal thing that goes to the air filter.
Then there's the one that you can't even see, but could get to by feel.

Which one am I missing?

Thanks again.

Is there a chance you could get me a picture so I can see the bolt holes?

Is the ACV the thing I took off that leads to that. . . . thing. . . . with the blue sticker on it? The blue sticker thing is belt driven. Sorry if I seem like such a newb!

You're gonna need the gasket and o-rings anyway. Go buy them and you'll see by looking at the gasket where all the bolts should be.

to simply answer your question yes, it's hooked to the pump on the belt, and there are 4 bolts and 2 nuts.
