Intake manifiold question - to seal or not to seal?
I had ordered my gasket and was waiting for it to arrive, so I asked a guy at NAPA what type of sealant I should use. He said it depends on what the gasket is made of and that I should wait for it to arrive before I chose a sealant. So I get the gasket and go back to NAPA and a different guy tells me to put it on without sealant.
What's the opinion here? To seal or not to seal, that is the question.

u shoul be fine without any sealant. the gasket is made to work by itself and to seal with just the pressure applied. but if that does not make you feel safe you can alway put a thin layer of sealan just to make sure it seals and stays in place. but u should put enough that when you tighned the bolts you dont get a bunch of sealant being squished out the manifold. u shoul only use sealant by itself when u dont have a gasket, cause sealant is made to be a temporary replacement for a gasket. so in your case is up to u whether u use sealant or not.
