Intake idea

I woke up in the middle of the night last night, and had an idea for an intake. So while searching through pics to try to find one that I could use to illustrate it, I found this one. It may be exactly what I was thinking about.

The piece between the headlights, the way it is ported, is this for an intake? If so, how good is this particular setup, or does anyone know?

Thanks,
Brian

Once I saw it, I kinda figured that's what it was desgined for. Would it be possible to adapt it for use as an intake though? Would there be any advantage? More volume/ colder air?

well if you put a cai in there it would be ok. Just make sure you have a good filter because any crap the cars infront throw up will go straight into your intake.

The radiator would block that, unless you make it turn sideways and go thru the side of the rad shroud (like the CAI in our tutorial). A spot thats wide open is the headlight bucket.

I knew it would have to turn around the rad, and that it would need an extra high quality filter, but I figured that it would also provide a little more air, and cooler air at that. The headlight pass through method is tried and true, but I just don't really like the looks of the one headlight intake. And buying/making the drivers headlight assembly to match, just doesn't seem practical.

Besides, this is just a random thought that woke me up in the middle of the night, so I guess the fact that it's slightly practical is at least worth it.
