Insurance Stuff

I was wondering... has anyone ever had to total their car and gotten money from either ins. company? If so, what was the circumstance of the accident and how much $$ did you get back?
When I insured my car last year the insurance agent told me just to get liability ("...such an old car"), but i got comprehensive and collision anyway. What do yuo guys have?

I have comp and liability. The extra premium for collision just isn't worth it for "such an old car". Heck, a simple fender bender can render the car "totaled" in the insurance co's eyes.

A lot of insurance companies don't split up comp and collision, they are a package deal.
